Prayer for Rest

Updated: Jul 27

Pray We Become Rested in God

Rest is not laziness. It is trust. It is the confidence that God remains faithful even when you are not striving endlessly. There is a rest that comes from surrendering control and allowing God to sustain you.

In becoming, you must learn not only how to move, but also how to rest in Him.

Today, you choose trust over striving.

Commit again to your one hour of becoming:

  1. 20 minutes exercise

  2. 20 minutes prayer

  3. 20 minutes studying the Word

Word for Today:

Matthew 11:28–29 (NKJV): “Come to Me, all you who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me… and you will find rest for your souls.”

Supporting Scriptures:

Exodus 33:14 (NKJV): “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”

Psalm 62:1 (NKJV): “Truly my soul silently waits for God; from Him comes my salvation.”

Reflection for Today:

What have you been carrying that God is asking you to surrender and rest from?

Prayer:

Father, according to Your Word in Matthew 11:28–29, You invite those who are weary and burdened to come to You and find rest for their souls.

Today, I lay every burden before You.

Give me rest in my mind.

Give me rest in my spirit.

Give me rest in my emotions.

Teach me to trust You instead of striving anxiously. Help me to surrender the pressure of trying to control everything on my own.

I come against exhaustion.

I come against burnout.

I come against every weight that has been draining my strength.

Let Your presence become my place of rest and renewal. Quiet every anxious thought and steady my heart in Your peace.

Teach me how to rest in You without fear, knowing that You remain faithful in every season.

Prayer Points:

  1. Pray for rest in your mind, spirit, and emotions.

  2. Pray for grace to trust God instead of striving anxiously.

  3. Pray against exhaustion, pressure, and burnout.

  4. Pray that the presence of God becomes your place of rest and renewal.

Declaration:

I declare that I am rested in God.

I decree that pressure, anxiety, and exhaustion are leaving my life.

I proclaim that the presence of God renews and sustains me daily.

I choose trust over striving.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
